3.41 AVERAGE

This was pretty good. It took me a bit to get into, but I think that was more because I had heard it compared to Gone Girl and I didn't get it. It's not like that at all. But an interesting read nonetheless

I was just very underwhelmed with this. The story is just a survivors story. If you know what happens to her you know the story that’s all. There isn’t any twist any turns NOTHING! It was almost boring. Sorry I’m a little bit cold hearted with it because I’m just like ugh we all have a story. Just bored me.

DID NOT FINISH

I gave up on this book after only 33 pages. The main character describes her younger self as, a "genetic mess that not even a prom dress-induced anorexia fix- a stomach that was rippled with fat, a belly button that winked like an Asian eye".

No thanks. The book probably gets better and more interesting, but I hated the narrator and this passage is ridiculous.

2.5 rounded up. Like it wasn't bad I guess? But it wasn't at all twisty and it very much does not deserve the comparison to Gillian Flynn

I don’t really feel sorry for anyone

I didn't like this book at first, but I stuck with it and ended up loving it! Loved the switching between her teenage self and the present day.

First off, nothing like Gone Girl. Just get that out of the way and judge this book on its own. Main character is def an unreliable narrator and completely unlikable. But most of the characters are unlikable. Wait, maybe ALL. But I think that was on purpose. A lot of people focus on how shallow TifAni is, but she is still in her twenties. And the incident happened at fourteen. I don't think she has grown up enough yet to not be so shallow. The important thing about this book is the dynamic between the school kids. Kids are really that mean. They really talk like that. They really bully other students. Sexual assault happens are girls get blamed for it. Violence happens. I think this is a good read for the Whydunnit.
