It took me a long time to get into the book and once some action took place, I was committed to finish it. I'm glad I didn't read any of the reviews prior to reading the book and I have to admit I checked this book out of the library because it was on a list of books similar to Gone Girl.

Like the reviews I read after completing the book, I have to admit that I was thoroughly unimpressed. I didn't like the main character and there was no emotional connection to any of the characters at all and there were so many of them! Also the range of topics was intense and there were far too many: rape, bullying, distorted eating habits, gun control to name a few...it was a whirlwind that's for sure!

And what the heck happened to her teacher at the end??? He just disappears and that's that???

There was some very predictable parts, but that didn't take away too much from the book. I thought the characters were interesting. Some of the main characters thoughts reminded me of a non-crazy murderer Patrick Bateman...if that makes any sense.

Definitely a hard read and one filled with trauma. Glad that there was some redemption for the protagonist but wasn’t quite enough to deal with the other 11.5 hours of the book. It was hard to read two books by this author in tandem and I’m glad they’re done.

I had a hard time getting into it because I was not a fan of the author's writing style, but I definitely was intrigued to find out why the narrator was the luckiest girl alive so I stuck with it. The twist almost made me put it down, but that is my issue not a fault with the story. I get the hype, but also understand the mixed reviews.

the book was a little slow but had a good story. I felt like it dragged on throughout the middle of the book but the ending had me hanging on every word.

TW for rape, racism, and homophobia. Mega-trigger warning for fatphobia and classism. Fast-paced with a sociopathic and delightfully sarcastic MC makes me recommend this book to anyone who likes Karen Slaughter-type books.

Um...I was not expecting the story to take the turn it did; pleasantly surprised. The ending, not so much.
