Other low-star reviews resonate with me for this book. I understand it's important to write about difficult topics and approaches to them can be variable, but it felt as if the author flippantly shoved every trigger topic into one novel, surrounded by unlikeable and flat characters. There is not a single person I could fathom recommending this to.

I have mixed feelings about this book, but all I can say is if you’re going to read this book, make sure you look up your trigger warnings!

Good, not amazing. Engaging. Pretty easy to track the different characters, even though there were a bunch.

Great page turner that kept me going from start to finish. The big twist comes about 2/3 in and to be honest I kept thinking there was going to be another twist at the end...Luke is really Arthur's half brother...Mr. Larson was the mastermind...But there wasn't one more shocker. The character development of Tif/Ani was well done, you really go from hating her to emphathizing with her, to rooting for her by the end.

In a time where we have an abundance of women-centric mystery/thrillers, I think Jessica Knoll was able to create a unique and intriguing plot line.

DNF

Fast read, especially during a Hurricane with no internet. But the characters were mostly despicable. There was maybe one likable character. Are people really this bad? Some are, for sure but it was painful to read about the viscousness, rape and excuses for rape which make gun violence seem tolerable.

Couldn't do! Could not finish this book. The writing - OMG!
