This novel has some genuinely unsettling moments and the characters show potential, but the pacing feels uneven and the buildup is often sluggish. While the twist at the end is interesting, it doesn’t quite land as effectively as it could have, leaving the reader feeling more confused than satisfied. Overall, it’s a decent read, but not one I’d highly recommend.

the kid was actually funny as hell phil had a whole comedian in his house.

crazy body horror too !! i think i liked this book a lot mostly because of that. it was a quick and enjoyable read that i will most definitely be coming back to near halloween time just for the festivities of it all. i loved the pace, felt like it was just quick enough for how long the book was. the ending ohhhh my god loved it. i know i really did enjoy it for it being so short but there is a part of me that’s so curious about this other world and the elders and the whole seed bit. it was so so good.

This is the second book by him I've read and I pretty much have the same praise and complaints. Again, I want it to be just a little longer. Again, I love the way he introduced and continued the horror, although it all went downhill too quickly for my tastes. The premise was unique and reminded me of HP Lovecraft, what with the Eldritch beings sent to study humans.

Well, that was creepy! It had been ages since I got to read a horror book and it truly didn’t disappoint. The number of times I screamed What in the hell is going on while reading it. The events were truly bizarre and scary but absolutely gripping till the end.
