‘In another life, I’d do more than chase her around. I’d catch her.’

⛰️ Fourth in a series that can be read as stand alone
⛰️ First person dual POV
⛰️ Fling
⛰️ Instachemistry
⛰️ Billionaire / Bartending entrepreneur
⛰️ Lots of time jumps
⛰️ After a public shaming in New York, Sofia is in Montana for 10 days to visit family and find a purpose
⛰️ It can’t work out: she can’t fall in love & give up everything again, he can’t shake his family’s expectations
⛰️ Well established secondary characters: Thea & Logan (Book 1), Jackson & Willa (Book 2), Kaine & Piper (Book 3), Audrey (Book 5), Xavier.
⛰️ MC growth: Communication, risking a relationship, priorities, familial expectations, finding purpose.
⛰️ Epilogue
⛰️ Book 5 is well set up

🚩 The FMC notes that ‘crying isn’t feminist’ in the beginning and that isn’t fully unpacked to explain that her view has changed. It would be nice if other characters would back up the idea that crying is human…
Toxic family relationships/expectations are made excuses for poor communication. It feels like Dakota keeps Sofia as an option in his back pocket. He is literally given the option to choose, knowing that she will wait it out until he decides. This isn’t the reciprocal relationship Sofia deserves, especially after she communicates her past relationships being very one-sided. If the roles were reversed Sofia would be named flaky and idiotic for not choosing Dakota immediately, and accepting his wealth. It’s literally what happened in book 1…

⚠️ Death of a parent, pregnancy (not MC), toxic relationship, medical content (minor).

I want to start this by saying, I really didn’t think I was going to like Sofia’s story after what we saw of her but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole book!! I was immediately sucked into the story and felt for Sofia as soon as I opened the book. I definitely feel like the pace was a little fast in the beginning (I mean it was “casual” lol) but still! There were also just a few details that were mentioned like they were going to be important, then they were never mentioned again. For example, how Dakota made it a point to mark on a calendar when Sofia leaves but he never looks at it again and also how the author made the “bad tenant” of Dakota’s seem like an ominous plot point, and then they were never mentioned again. Besides those, I really enjoyed the story of Sofia and Dakota and really loved/appreciated the Native American details and backgrounds that were added and mentioned. I always love how community or family focused the characters are and continue to be, when something happens, all the characters come together. Overall, this was another cute, spicy, and feel good small town romance from Devney Perry! She is and continues to be a must buy author for me

I was so excited for this one and it started off so good but then just kept a steady decline. I hated the MULTIPLE time jumps and the third act conflict lasted WAY too long. Dakota and Sofia were cute I just wish we got more of that found family in this! Also the lead up to Aubrey's and Landon's romance was not my thing... (especially the end of this one with their wedding)

I wasn’t as attached to this story as I had been with the other 3 in the series but this one was still amazing and it kept me interested. I wonder if we’ll see a novella in the future.
