I may have read all these comics before on XKCD, but that doesn't make the book any less enjoyable. The comics are normally outstandingly funny, but every once in a while Munroe writes little mini stories that can be quite interesting. With subjects like love, happiness, the universe, Pearl, open source software, and more, it's one of the surprisingly relate-able things out there for geeks and geek-adjacent to be able to latch on to and feel a connection with. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Yes, I did just write all that about a comic with science and tech jokes with stick figures.

For the most part, this is The Family Circus for computer nerds. What isn't just boring is most commonly barely humorous. I'm a bit stunned that this is the "crème de la crème" of the author's website. On the other hand, it did get me to laugh out loud two or three times, and he had a particularly mature and insightful comic regarding voting machines and condoms. No, I'm not at all sure it's worth the effort to read the book just for that. If you're idea of high fashion is wearing your pants down between your knees, then maybe this is your cup of humorous tea.

I'd read all these comics before, but I got the ebook with one humble bundle or another, so I reread it. It holds up, man. Some great comics in there.

It's always nice to revisit some classic xkcd and there's plenty of goodness in here, including the House of Leaves parody. Randall's annotations and additions are a nice touch too. Considering xkcd is free entertainment 3 times a week I can't imagine any fan objecting to paying for a tangible version, especially as it's always more pleasant reading from a page instead of a screen.

A great selection of comics, even though not all of my favourites from this time period were included. Still waiting for volume 1 onward though!

I'm not cool enough to have read xkcd from the beginning or even cool enough to read it regularly now (though I do enjoy the strips that have become popular enough to come across my radar), but now I have this thanks to the Humble Bundle Book Bundle 2 (http://www.humblebundle.com/). There are some gems in this collection and it's worth the read.
