Enthralling! I just can't get enough of the Dark Crystal universe. What can I say? These are stories I know I will return to again and again. This volume is even richer than the first, and I'm so eager for the final one to be released. Although, I don’t want it to end… Please keep this new DC canon material coming! I'll just have to wait and see what comes of the recent 'Author Quest'. It should be a very intriguing novel and something to look forward to in spite of the abandonment of the proposed movie sequel. For shame!

The story progresses a bit more and gets us closer to the familiar landscape that we have come to know in the The Dark Crystal. I didn't realize there was a third volume in this series, so I will likely see how Creation Myths wraps up. This comic I liked a lot simply because it tells a familiar backstory and fleshes it all out with beautiful illustrations.

This is really a terrific series for us children of the 80s. The backstory is so cool!

In this volume, we’re really starting to see the world of Thra as we know it from the original film, and it’s fantastic. Like, truly full of whimsy and gorgeous artwork and fantastical elements. I was so in awe by every page. And the story! Toward the end of this volume, the pieces were starting to come together and I could recognize the place where the Dark Crystal exists in the current universe. The Mystics and Skeksis have finally made an appearance, the world looks a little more familiar, and everything is just so full. I’m amazed every time I step back into the world of Thra how much more there is to everything. I’m thoroughly enjoying reading these volumes about the early Thra, and I can’t wait to dive into the next one.

This was, like the first volume, a delight. Froud's art is beautiful, and over and over I found panels which made me say to my partner "You must look at this!" I don't think the story would work as a standalone, and each volume has made me say to myself, "I really must watch that movie again." I think that knowing how the world ends up is fairly essential to understanding and caring about this creation tale.

This volume brings together all the shorter stories from volume 1, weaving them into the beginnings of the story. Jim Henson's vision is brought to life with Brian Froud's amazing artwork. I have no doubt that Henson would have been proud and honored by the team's amazing work.

The best part of this volume was David Odell's words at the end, describing what it was like working with Jim Henson, creating the Dark Crystal and the world and characters of Thra. Complete with B&W photographs, it really brings the whole vision home, and I am able to realize exactly how much work went into it all. Not to mention, how brilliant Jim Henson really was.

Part 2 of the Dark Crystal Preview. As good as the first and a continuation of the story up to the film's start

The story of the Great Crystal, a fascinating look into the World and world building of the Dark Crystal. I find the story telling wonderful, but the art lack luster.
