i’m not sure how to rate this one so i probably won’t. i will say i will read anything patti smith writes. this book both made me laugh and tear up. while the specific contents of the book probably won’t stick with me, the idea behind it and the way she reflects one her own life and inspirations within it have already started to impact the way i think about my own life and probably will for the foreseeable future. can’t wait to read more of her work :)

I am mesmerized by Patti’s brain. I wouldn’t recommend this to those who are not obsessed w all things Patti Smith but I appreciated it for what it is.

Not sure how to rate or review this but let's just start by saying that; Yes, I liked it. I liked seeing what photos she picked for each day and reading the little note that came with it.

However, it feels very similar to browsing her Instagram page, just instead of online, it's printed in book format. Having borrowed it from the library, that was fine, but I can't help but think that if I had bought it (which would be 20 to 30 euros depending on whether I went with amazon or a local bookstore), I would have been really disappointed.

Maybe this is just a me problem. I like Patti Smith's music and I consider Just Kids to be one of my favourite books (it's due for a reread though), but maybe I'm not big enough of a fan for this to be as special to me as it might be to someone else?

Thinking of nothing. I remember my mother sitting like this. And I would ask, What is it, Mommy? And she would say, Oh nothing. And now I know what nothing is.
