More of a spy thriller than a detective mystery; set in a small English village & Miss Maud Silver finds the solution.

An excellent one, but I really like the first victim, and wish he hadn't been murdered!

Well, a good old-fashioned “whodunnit” is sure more fun when there are fewer distracting typos and more interesting characters! And now that I’ve figured out the “innocent / happy ever after” trend in this author’s books, I know which suspects I can focus my guessing on. It makes the reading experience comfortably predictable, even though of course there are a few surprising twists to spice things up.
