A decent book. Probably my least favorite of the James Bond books thus far but still at least mildly entertaining. Overall a pretty average book, good enough to finish but probably won't ever reread.

Well, I can now officially say I've read a James Bond. It was much, much more dated than I thought it would be, and every time I spotted a trope that's been used in derivative/inspired novels I couldn't help but think that those tropes have been used much better by more recent authors. I appreciate it's impact, but that's pretty much it.
The apologists for the rampant racism in this Bond installment can have this one. I, on the other hand, will not take the "things were different then" approach in this instance. There's a line somewhere in there and this book crossed it for me.
This book is RIDICULOUSLY racist but has a lot of good breakfast and sea creature scenes.

3.5 stars purely for the excellent narrator..
I don't feel interested in any other 007 story right now..maybe I would finish these some day..for now I'll mark it a s 'lost interest'

Ian writes more times Negro in this book than Samuel L. Jackson said "Fuck" in his whole life.
I liked this one but just couldn't find myself to give it 4 stars. At times I enjoyed the dialogue between Bond and Mr. Big. But the action scenes just weren't to action packed for me I think.
Being my favorite James Bond movie, I thought it would be interesting to read the book as well. Live and Let Die is an incredibly captivating story about James Bond's mission to put an end to the latest money-making scheme of criminal Mr. Big. Although the book itself isn't a very challenging read, the story definitely makes it worth reading. I plan on reading the other books in the James Bond series in the future.
