Abandoned 1/3 of the way through. Lots of "Anonymous person X" said Y, and I just don't care enough to delve through 300 pages of that.
I really enjoyed this, but I don’t think it should have taken me a month to get through. It could have been 50% shorter and I would have liked it just as much.
Fantastic story that weaves JCrew into the broader tapestry of Post-War Americana. I found its continued emphasis on Emily's demeanor redundant in part one and unnecessary to continually return to. Otherwise, fresh and insightful. I would read a whole series of these on PRL, BB, etc

Did I buy a second hand J.Crew jacket while reading this book? Yes. A bit more Jenna Lyons biography than needed, overall I learned quite a bit of interesting information about the fashion industry & would recommend to any Gen X who; Was in fact ‘so J.Crew’ or wished they could be.

This book was fantastic!! I listened to the audiobook, which was read by the author. If I was being nit-picky, this book would be 4.5 stars. This is because 1) the intro is incredibly dry and boring. I almost didn't even get past the beginning because of how boring it was!! Hence the amount of time it took my to finish...I kept starting and restarting. Only reason I got into it is I found myself on a long plane ride and this was my only downloaded book. 2) The author reads the book and I didn't find her to be the best narrator.
All that said, the author did an INCREDIBLE job with very meticulous research walking through the rich history of J.Crew and how it ended up where it is today. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in business profiles, J.Crew, and female leaders in business. I learned so much about J.Crew, LBOs in the early 2000s, trends, etc.

I enjoyed this! Not too much shop talk, but still informative enough to learn about J Crew. It definitely kept me interested, probably because J Crew is my go to!
