This was ok - I really didn’t care for the first one, but I found this one a bit more palatable. In general both stories seemed unreasonably far fetched, and the relationship between Finlay and Vero doesn’t do it for me. I’m not sure I’ll bother reading the next one, but it was a decently fun read.

The second book in the Finlay Donavan series is more of the charming and cozy vibes of the first book. Much like the first one, I thought this book was easy to consume and entertaining. I like the characters and enjoy the antics that Finlay gets in to, even if you have to suspend your disbelief a lot of the time. Overall it is was a fun time and I’m looking forward to the next book.

Another funny and entertaining mystery! I really like this series and I immediately downloaded the third book😂 this had comedy, mystery and some romance
I also love how the majority of the “villains” are just normal people who either mad a mistake or didn’t understand what they were doing
like I didn’t expect the mom to be the one who put the hit out😂 BUT WHO IS EASY CLEAN???

Funny, twisty mystery! Finlay again finds herself in the middle of a high stakes case. This time someone is out to murder her ex-husband. Can Finlay help uncover the mystery of who is after her ex while also trying to untangle the mess that is mom life with two small kids and juggling two potential love interests?  I can’t wait to see what happens next in this cute, funny mystery series!

I love these characters, the vibe, and how that cop makes my heart clench!

I continue to be annoyed by the way this woman thrusts her children at everyone(including practical strangers) treats said people as if it is their responsibility to change diapers or entertain them for her, and at the same time seems to be raging a one woman war against their father (who has the actual right to see them, and is constantly asking to spend time with them) to keep them apart. It would be different if she actually seemed to care about her kids or notice they exist, spent any time with them at all, managed to do any task involving them, or something of the like. Don't get me started on how she treats her live-in nanny, who somehow bafflingly became her accountant, partner in crime, and BFF.
She is also constantly gripping about her 'not needing a husband to rescue her' to everyone in her life, much to the contrary of her actions and their consequences.

In this book, she has a vague safety reason to keep them (kids father and kids) separate, but wow, this woman is the definition of keep digging that hole until you bury yourself!

It's implied that Fin is somehow smart and capable. After all, she is somehow tied to the mob, dodging police investigations, and online, she is an assassin, and involved in decoding dark-web secret-forum chatter. Yet, She is actually incredibly stupid on many occasions-using public wi-fi on her personal devices to send messages, using her personal car to transport questionable items/storing items in her personal home, losing her phone at scenes of crimes...but i guess she is low-key hot enough to keep interested parties off her tail. It really is ridiculous!

Also, the amount of times that an object is mentioned as being dirty/sticky with some disgusting mystery substance in this book, is alarming. At one point she enters her home, and expresses shock that the mess she admits she left in the kitchen, hadn't been cleaned up by her servant (cough, unpaid live-in nanny bff) leaving her surprised/disgusted. I was raging! WHAT DO YOU MEAN! This woman is a disgusting slob, and it frankly shocks me that all these guys are randomly panting after her. There are moldering towels stinking up her house for days!!! DAYSSSS! Not to mention the contents of her fridge and freezer. One assumes this woman has a trash pickup service, and one wonders why rotting food is left in her laundry room for days?!? I guess her maid will get to them eventually.

I find these stories somewhat addicting, but I'm not really sure why. Finlay is supposed to be 'a good person' yet she isn't. She is at the very least, a liar, and a terrible mother.

I cant help but feel that if she simply sat her butt down, and began typing, you know, actually doing her supposed job(?) all her money woes would be gone. Instead, she is constantly inserting herself into more and more trouble.

Not to mention, her various love interests are all reading her (confessional) books, and clearly putting two and two together, yet they seem more focused on her shifting bedroom interests (who is she going pick in her triangle of doom?) and they remain unconcerned about her possible illegal activities.

Also, at the end, when Nick somehow drives himself to her parent's house, and then home again-boy, I'm confused about the logistics of that...? IYKYK.
