Amazing Enemies to Lovers read! My first book by Meghan Quinn. Greer & Arlo hated each other from the start. Luckily their banter turned to flirtation. Great read. Highly recommend.

Meghan Quinn had me laughing out loud with her story of two feuding teachers who end up falling for each other. Greer is such a unique woman and I love her enthusiasm for teaching. Arlo was a bit of a stick in the mud, but he thought he was right. The way Greer influences Arlo loosened him up. And when Arlo screwed up and had to make it up, his way of apologizing was so romantic. I highly encourage you to read this book. Meghan Quinn wrote a wonderful story.

I loved this one.

-Dual POV
-Two English teachers
-Enemies to lovers
-Workplace romance
-Pride and Prejudice vibes
-Spice, spice, spice (open door)
-Buttoned-up, dirty talking male main character

Content/trigger warnings: mention of cutting, parental abandonment and child neglect (past), divorce (supporting character)

Okay, so let's talk title first. I was pleasantly surprised to read from the synopsis that this would not be a teacher/student relationship (THANK GOD - I don't need to be reading that!). This follows a relationship between two English teachers - so don't be mislead by the title.

Okay, so the characterization of MC #1, Arlo Turner (god-awful first name) has me all over the place. When thinking of how Quinn describes him being just a HS teacher, but then also has a billion dollar inheritance and lives on Lake Michigan, I'm reminded of a favorite quote from Wicked. Glenda, during the pivotal Defying Gravity number, reminds Elphaba, that she's, "having delusions of grandeur," which is what I believe of Quinn's writing of Turner.

MC #2 - Greer Gibson. Oh how static she began. And how static she pretty much remained for the duration of the book. She had many of the archetypal traits of the meager, young, hot 20-something looking for love. Don't get me wrong, I loved reading about the development of the relationship between her and Arlo, but that also reminds me of another favorite quote, this time from Anchorman - "Boy, that escalated quickly!"

Now, could I put this book down? Of course not, I'm too deep into romance reading these days to have a real life (what, I have to work and take care of my family? Blasphemy!). So, if you're looking for a quick read with some SpIcY scenes (oh yes, there is lots of steam here), read on my friends.

**Side note - as a HS English teacher myself, the technical parts of this book were cringey and made me roll my eyes constantly, but I choose to suspend disbelief.**

Was. Very slow starting. Took me awhile to get in to the story. Like days and 3 other books read before I made it passed reading one chapter and getting bored. Glad I did story got much better. Arlo became a better human.

This was such a fun teacher romance! Greer is the young new teacher and Arlo is the stick in the mud head of the department. They instantly don’t like each other, they both have their own teaching style. Greer is the one who wants to bring the stories to life to help her students learn, Arlo demands excellence and is no nonsense. These two get heated with pranks and sexy time class room activities. Until Greer wants more, when Arlo isn’t willing to give more she steps back. Arlo realizes quickly that he could stand to give more and wants to win her back. This was sexy and sweet!
