The kind of book to make you sit and stare at the floor after finishing it. Very dark, everyone's a suspect so lots of intrigue, plenty of creepy and disgusting situations. Mind the content warnings. It's very visceral and immersive, which is brilliantly done but at times too much.

This book was a pretty easy read - easy as in I got through it quickly.

The actual storyline was....interesting. I started off with mix feelings about the mc but towards the end of the book tbh, I didn't like her at all.

By the time you realised who might have committed the murders it was like okay can we get on with it, a lil bit of a twist but also an unsurprising twist.

Honestly this whole book was a bit of a traumatic mess, in a bad way.

I genuinely hated this book I would not have read this if Sofia didn’t annotate it for me. Tbh her annotations were what got me through. I’m terrible at predictions but I guessed the plot so damn quick and the mediocre twist at the end was not enough to redeem this even a little bit. Reading this was so deeply unpleasant and I felt sick the whole time lol.

It's a very disturbing book - but impossible to put down. There's just something in the way Gillian Flynn describes all the dark and horrible things that happen. Would probably be a 3.5 star read if it wasn't for the ending, it left me very satisfied.

Read for the Read the States Challenge for: Missouri!

I'm not going to bother with a content warning list for this book because it's not worth your time or mine. If you struggle with reading about themes of suicide or self-harm, this is not the book for you.
Because it's such a quick read, I'm not really going to bother to break it down. But the writing is so, so damn good - honestly, just go read it!

I read this book in one day for a Read-a-Thon and it was absolutely worth my entire day. I tend to stay away from thrillers in general, but Gillian Flynn is an author I will continue to actively seek out. This is the second book I've read of hers and it's just as good.

Really good read but the triggers are incredible. If you have a trigger, this book WILL activate it

eery. very discerning. there were several parts that felt unnecessary especially
john and camille’s one-nightstand and camille's drug use with amma

i felt my skin crawl and stretch several times throughout the book. mother/daughter dynamics were intriguing if the plot not predictable. fitting that i was listening to poison by joy crookes while reading this
