« You better know how to fly, because if you fall, I’m coming with you. »
« Because that’s the thing about lines in the sand. Eventually, they wash away, and you can’t remember where you drew them. »
A sin for a sin? A bullet to the heart.

Disappointing is what this book is.
I pushed through thinking « I’m already 75% in, might as well see it through ».
What this book had:
- Tension
- Angst
- Family feud
- Good writing
What this book lacked:
- Smut
- Relationship development
- Character depth
- Plot detailing
- Love
The smut? We just had some foreplay and then the one scene, the one climax to all the tension was a fade to black? Ugh. The relationship felt super rushed, and in the end, they didn’t have many moments together.
The ending felt super rushed. I was hoping for a big moment for Rory but nothing. She didn’t grow as a character. There were so many hints telling us she would embrace her dark side. Where? She hasn’t changed. Also her bird curse quirk? Got old real quick.
I am interested in the other brother’s stories as I did enjoy the characters. However, I hope the plot is more thought-through than this one.
