Almost a 4
I read this book in about a day. I was hooked on the whole story. It a tad slow in the beginning but got faster.
I like these characters from the world. The whole lot of them. I am ready to get to see more of them in the next couple of books.

for me
This book was good. I loved the MMC. I love how obsessed he was with the FMC. I also love the whole give and take they had at the beginning of the book. The couple was so cute together. The only thing that I dislike was somewhat the FMC. The synopsis and certain points in the book they make it seem like she is a badass girl who does tons of bad stuff when she really hasn’t. Like yes she agrees with all of the killings and whatnot but she hasn’t really done anything. Like compared to other mafia books calling her character a badass is not even close to true. She disappointed me. I wanted a truly badass character and she truly wasn’t. The author made it seem like she was and she really wasn’t. Compared to other female mafia characters she is vanilla and compared to the average female character in general she is like one or maybe two shades darker way less than I would expect. Also for a book I’ve seen super hyped it kind of fell flat. The MMC is definitely the hype but the plot and everything together eh. I have also heard very good things about the duet that is after this but I don’t know if I will read them because I hate diets and series currently so we will see. Overall it was an okay book. For a mafia book and for the author is I expected more. It wasn’t bad just there was the badassness missing and just a spark. The book didn’t stick with me. Overall I would say it’s an average book do 3/5

I'm sorry but what actually happened!!!
The book started off so freakin strong for the first 40% and then it was like...nothing. When I say I was so intrigued for what was to come.
I LOVEDDDDD!! Tor and Gabe and I could really see potential for their books but now I'm not sure whether I'm gonna waste my time.
Nowwww!!! Don't get me started on Aurora, this bitch was of the most annoying fmc I have ever read

When I tell you I was giggling like a school girl, it was not because this was a cheesy romance book. Oh no. It was for the bad guy getting the good girl throughout the book. Absolutely had me in a chokehold. The entire book.
I definitely could have done without ALL the bird puns of course , but they did add something to Rory’s character.
