The writing in this is so compelling. I absolutely loved Girl, Mother and What I Have Been Doing Lately.
Some of these had a stream of consciousness feel to them, while some felt like accounts of true events and there was something to be gleaned from every story in this collection.

lots of descriptions of objects and people just strewn about. there was something to get, but I didn't this time around. some of the stories were much more compelling than others. I'm sure if I read this again, it'd get a higher rating.
