Colleen Coble has another great novel--this time surrounding A Fabergé egg! I LOVED having the extra info about the eggs woven into the plot! I personally LOVE studying the different eggs that have been created.
But what about the plot? Well in true Coble style, she will keep you guessing until you get nearly to the end--slipping little bread crumbs here and there--but also FALSE breadcrumbs! In this story we have Carly--a young widow who is trying to move on with her life after discovering her husband murdered just 9 months prior. She has a newborn baby that never knew his father to take care of. She's currently living with her grandmother in her giant old plantation home. She is supposed to be going through her great-grandmother's belonging in order to sell off any antiques and split the money with her sisters. Through the course of this she discovers a chest that has the stunning news that her grandmother is a TWIN and there is a Faberge egg in the chest! Suddenly life changes as Carly recognizes the egg as one that has been "lost" and thus would be worth MILLIONS of dollars. Now she wonders if that is what got her husband killed...
And everything is set in motion. We meet Lucas the next door neighbor who worked with Eric and always thought rather negatively of Carly...but is discovering that things weren't always as they seemed.
There is intrigue--there is family dynamics. There is mystery. and there is murder. The usual Colleen Coble novel!
Honestly this wasn't my favorite by her. I preferred some previous books--they were way more intense in plot. But it was still a solid mystery!

Wow! Colleen Coble hit it out of the park with Fragile Designs!! I’ve read many of Colleen’s books, but this one was stands out from the others (in the best possible way).
There is sooo much drama… Family drama, break-ins, murder—this book has it all! To avoid the risk of spoilers, I’ll just say it’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat until you turn the last page.
The characters are so incredible! Not perfect, mind you, but incredible nonetheless. There are a lot of prejudices and preconceived notions that the characters are forced to make a choice—they can reconcile their differences, or they can continue on their miserable roads. They’re all so complex that I honestly had a difficult time discerning who was trustworthy and who was deceitful, which was a refreshing change; I usually have the “bad guys” pegged from the beginning. This book certainly had me second-guessing my sleuthing abilities!
If you enjoy Christian suspense, you’re sure to love this latest by Colleen Coble! I’m not sure if this is intended to be part of a series, but I earnestly hope so!

I did not realize this was Christian fiction when I picked it up. I would not have read this if I had known that however it was not a bad read and I’m glad gave it a try. The story was enjoyable.
