I suppose I was able to follow because I can now better divine some meaning behind their inane way of speaking, which I found at times quite humorous and it was short enough not to reach the stage where it annoyed me

Reading Shakespeare as an adult hits differently. Or maybe it was this specific one. It was very chaotic, the Clown reminds me of Deadpool a little. A few times, I giggled and laughed. It was a Italian soup opera.

After reading a summary online, I really wish I could’ve experienced this. However, the old script is REALLY hard to follow. It’s a super complex plot. I’m going to see the play in a month so that’ll probably be better.

Such an excellent concept: Shakespeare on one page, Modern English on the other. For anyone that is studying or has ever struggled to understand Shakespeare, this is a terrific series to help you make sense of the text whilst enjoying Shakespeare :) Highly recommend!
This is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. It's ridiculous and hilarious while also having some truly beautiful monologues and quotes. Viola is one of the greatest Shakespearean heroines, and Olivia is equally fantastic.
Side note: It's also always very funny to think the "some are born great," which so many consider to be a profound quote, comes from a low level prank in this play.
