i wanted to to love this book more because it's a scott snyder book. i am really in love with his writing when it comes to Batman, so i decided to see if his other works hold up too.

to be fair this wasn't a bad book. there were just things that didn't really work for me. i think my main issue was how so things were not explain well to my liking. that was the main issue that could have been addressed better.

I think I was expecting more world-building. It seemed deliberately confusing, suffering from Blair Witch Project shaky-cam in a graphic novel. It was ok.

Seeded with a personal touch from writer Scott Snyder, Wytches isn't just a scary witch story; it's a deeply personal character study. I loved it.

Delivered on creepy vibes but a little too scattered for me, it was difficult to follow. Disability, implied alcoholism, anxiety and miscarriage. I really liked how the coloring was done with the splattering.

THIS WAS SO FREAKEN GOOD OH MY GOD.
I have a love for horror graphic novels apparently. This exceeded all my expectations. It did not expect it to follow around a family of three at all. I didn't expect the twist. It was dark, and twisted, and it was everything I could ask for. THE ART IS STELLAR. The ONLY complaint I have is that sometimes it was hard to tell what exactly was going on in certain pictures. Other than that, fantastic. Easy to follow along. Very enjoyable. Don't read it at night.

Wytches took longer than I hoped to connect with, but by the end, I was satisfied. The artwork and story are creepy. The themes that it deals with are very human despite the supernatural elements. And the essays by Snyder are very enlightening. There were moments of confusion due to the art and storytelling style, but the story as a whole delivers.
