Flying Witch Vol. 1 is.... nice. Not amazing or breathtaking, exciting or even necessarily too interesting. And no one can accuse this manga of having too complex characters or much of any plot at all. But I don't think that's what it tries to be.

What is is, is a fun, silly and light-hearted silce-of-life manga, that left me smiling from beginning to end. It's a nice and uncomplicated read, but I have to admit that the current lack of plot makes it difficult to stay interested for too long at a time.

I will be continuing the series in hopes that it picks up.

This is a super low stakes, cozy, slice of life manga. It reminds me a bit of Laid Back Camp, which I'm also really enjoying. I would like just a bit more connection between chapters, or longer episodic chapters with a bit more of an arc, but it's still nice if you just want to read a chapter every day or so. I'm curious to see more of how magic works in this world, since you don't really see any of that until the last chapter

Super weird mix of fantasy and the mundane. Cool stuff.

Saw the anime a few years back, everything is exactly the same.

I like the character of Makoto but I don't like how unable she is to explore on her own or even understand basic life skills. It's almost like she was being infantilized which I didn't really like. However, I like her relationship with her familiar and really liked the Harbinger of Spring! I'll give this series another book to see if it picks up.

It's cute, but not much else.
