Second read: this is just as cute as I remember. Extremely lighthearted and has all the cozy vibes.
First read: Such KiKi delivery service vibes! This was a cute little manga that put a smile on my face the entire time I read it. Seeing the new experiences of being a witch on her own (but still living with family) for the first time is adorable. The pheasant bit was literally the best thing ever and I’m enjoying starting to learn about what seems to be a pretty simple yet fun magic system.

Summary:
Makoto Kowata is a witch. Or rather, she's a witch in training. As such, she has packed up all her belongings (and cat) to live with distant relatives. It's a bit of a family tradition – a way of sending young witches out into the world but in a gentler way.
Makoto's expected to continue her training here, finding her own path to living her life as a witch.
Review:
Flying Witch Vol. 1 is a light and fun introduction to this world and family. Makoto takes the focus, being young with and all. But her cousins are likewise interesting – and interested in what Makoto can do.
I can already tell that this will be a sweet and funny slice-of-life series. Makoto may be a witch, but that doesn't seem to help her with certain issues. For example, she has no sense of direction. Additionally, she seems hesitant to use her magic.
I look forward to seeing how this story evolves and grows over time. As such, I fully intend on tracking down the rest. Can't wait to get started!
