The "Flying Witch" gives me Kiki's Delivery Service vibes all over which I quite like. The story is a nice mix of whimsical meets fantasy. The characters are fun and the family actually feels like a real family to me which is extra bonus. If you like fantasy and slice of life novels/anime/mangas please give this manga a try because you won't be disappointed. There's not any crazy plots or wild love-triangles going on (as far as I'm aware) so if you are aboard the simple fantasy life genre this might be your cup of tea.

I read this for The Reading Rush 2019.

Reminds me of Kiki's Delivery Service with a little splash of Harry Potter. Not bad, but I need to read more volumes to get a better feel of how good this series is.

As this is the first in a manga series, it is more difficult to give an accurate review as we have only just been introduced to the characters and the beginnings of the storyline. Makoto is our main character, a 15 year old clumsy and ditzy teenager who has left home to begin her witch training whilst staying with her cousin. Despite the slow pace and little plot line explored so far, I am still intrigued by what the rest of the volumes will hold.
