Great book by a great author. Tight plot and writing, the pacing was about perfect, and the story was interesting. This one is a bit different from Hunter's previous work in that it's told from first person POV. It's not different in that the book is exciting and dark and very well done. I love that Hunter's books are so British. I mean that I feel like I'm watching a British mystery on TV. There were even a few places where I wish I had subtitles for the audiobook. :-) I definitely suggest getting both the audio AND the ebook or paperback version if you're not British so you can see the spellings AND get the pronunciations of the words. That's the best for fans of words, I think.
No matter what version you pick, if you're a fan of Hunter's previous work, you'll probably love Alias. If you've not given her stuff a shot yet, this stand-alone novel is the perfect jumping in point.

4 stars. Not my favorite by Hunter but it was still good. I also think this is the first that I’ve read by her so far that is all told from a single pov. That was interesting but it did throw me off a little bit at first not going to lie. I’m used to both heroine’s getting pov’s but I got used to it. I did really like the main character, Alis. She suffers from amnesia after a car crash and there’s all this mystery and drama about her life before. It was very intriguing and that first chapter describing the aftermath of the crash was super intense and so well done.
The romance in this one was okay. I liked Pryce as a character and I honestly didn’t really feel the chemistry between her and Alis. It was lacking for me. But, while the romance was lackluster the mystery and action is what kept me hooked. This wasn’t bad by any means and I would still recommend it just because Cari Hunter is just so damn good at writing.

This book was a disappointing read. The beginning starts off with a bang and gets you ready for a wild ride. The books stalls out for the next two hundred pages. I kept reading and constantly saying it has to get better and some excitement has to happen. The end of the book is like the beginning.
I loved the authors other books but this one left me feeling a sense of relief that the book was done.
The writing is beautiful and the characters well developed as all Cari Hunter books are.

Great blend of suspense and human nature, excellent writing! More mystery than romance and I loved that!
