Wow. What a MANIFESTO.

Heavy material but the book really moves along and is both excruciatingly honest and hopeful.

My first five star review since 2021!  This was a heavy and dark memoir, written by Kiese for his mother.
I kept waiting to hear how he had moved forward and recovered from anorexia and binge eating and gambling, only for the dark ending to leave his future open.
I wish him all the best in the future. I’m glad to read this, it taught me so much about racism, poverty and weight.

I’m experiencing sincere heart ache. This was not only written beautifully, but the weight of the subject matter is overwhelming.
