I really enjoyed this read! It was not what I was expecting it to be and was pleasantly surprised!

Mhairi McFarlane has become one of my favorite authors. She writes character driven romance with lots of supporting cast members, and I always enjoy the ride she takes me on.

Mhairi McFarlane and I are just interested in different parts of relationships, I think. Her books always spend so much time on the break up that precedes the new relationship. I don't care. I want to know about the new relationship.

The writing is clean and the banter is good. I get why she's so popular.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy.

✨Synopsis✨

As she embarks on a quest for answers about their past and her own life, Roisin uncovers an unforeseen twist among their familiar circle—a chance for unexpected fresh start

✨My Thoughts✨
I picked up this one after really enjoying another by the author and although I did enjoy the fact it wasn’t a typical romance there was just so much about it that was completely infuriating and that didn’t quite hit the spot for me. A big focal point of the story is gaslighting, and I thought that element was executed really well in that it was making me furious and the characters really unlikeable, what I didn’t love was the fact that it called every character into question in some ways so you almost didn’t know who you were supposed to be invested in and all the relationships just felt really fickle. The friendship group element was a little similar to Happy Place in that it explored the change in dynamics as you get older but it wasn’t done anywhere near as well. Overall this book was fine but I wouldn’t say it was particularly enjoyable and I wouldn’t pick up anything else by the author
