Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde only covered 20% of the book, the rest was the other stories. Sadly I hated the other stories, they seemed to be forgettable and often difficult to understand. I think it took a long time for me to read this as I really didn't want to pick it up again. I would like to read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde again to see if my rating were biased because of the other stories. Overall not an enjoyable collection of stories for light reading.

Genuinely thrilling and creepy, which I don't often find for older books. This is a classic that still holds up today.

I only read The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, so that's all this review will be for.

Personally, I thought this was very intriguing, but what got me in the end was the formatting. First off, my copy had the bottom of the pages cut off, so sometimes I didn't get to read the entire paragraph. At other points, the entire page was a single paragraph, and I'd find myself falling asleep. Especially in the last chapter of Jekyll and Hyde.

The story itself was interesting. I wasn't expecting it to come in the point of view of a character I've never heard of before, and I really wasn't expecting the reasoning behind Hyde.

Overall, decent story, crappy formatting and somewhat okay writing.

I'm a huge supporter of the idea that once you start a book you have to finish it. However, I think exceptions should be made where short story collections are involved. I finished The Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, though it took me forever, and even started reading the second story hoping that would prove more entertaining, but finally I decided that the only reason I started reading this volume was for the famous jekyll and hyde story so there was no point in dragging myself through the rest of the volume when I didn't even enjoy the main story. I somehow never got into the story, the narrative was slow and somewat boring and I found myself reading it on automatic pilot. So, I decided to hand in the gauntlet and decided not to read te rest of the stories in this volume.
