An intriguing journey back in deep time. Earth is awesome.

I think maybe I don't like natural history as much as I thought I did. This is so in-depth that most of the stuff being talked about went right over my head. Out of the couple hours I "listened" to this I didn't comprehend a thing. It was just noise, which was disappointing.

It's not a bad book, it's just not for me.

This book starts in the recent past and then takes us further back. A bit like Dawkin’s “the Ancestor’s tale”, except this author tries to explores the entire ecology around certain famous fossil sites. In parts quite fascinating. Like imagining what the world looked like without grass or trees. However, I found it a bit hard to follow on audio.

Really interesting and a great way to present the material. So much information, I have already forgotten all of it but just to have been exposed to it is enough to make its mark.

Very interesting book but I admit listening to it on audiobook while busy with visiting family and a baby going through a mama clingy phase was maybe not the best time to do it. I learned a lot...but forgot almost all of it immediately

One of the best pop sci books I've read, genuinely loved it. An emotive and absorbing journey back into geologic time, from most recent to most ancient.
