this book exceeded my expectations in all the best ways. it was super interesting AND dropped some truth bombs i wanted him to say again for the people in the back. i zoned out at times and want to read again just so i can get everything i can out of this book

Never read anything quite like this so was a bit more of a challenging read, not so much a binge but incrementally in chapters. Loved how weaved modern day within and the scope of what was covered. Also beautifully written and very insightful. Unique perspective on climate change that was actually very helpful. Recommend for anyone with interest in biology, ecology, nature, pre-human history or the environment.

Absolutely monumental read, a few more details and facts than I could really understand, but still super interesting and engaging. Especially appreciated that time travelled gradually backwards, making it easier to understand the earliest time periods once you got there.

Interesting read, but at times it felt really slow and sometimes the embellished writing style made it unnecessarily hard to follow. I guess I am not used to that kind of writing in a "science-y" book

Beautifully written - I loved the approach to write about different periods as if you were watching a nature documentary. I listened to an audiobook of this, which really suited this storytelling style, but I'd quite like a print copy to re-read sections of.
