Otherlands brings you on a journey to past ecosystems, going as far back as the first organisms we can sort of call animals. It's fascinating and ends with a couple of lessons we can take from these explorations to deal with our current situation.

I listened to the audiobook, usually on runs. To me it wasn't the best suitable book for that, because the writing paints scenes rather than explaining conceptual information. I can picture things more easily when reading text (and when I'm not missing 50% of my thinking capacity because I'm running). The narrator was great though! Very soothing voice.

Each page is a wall of text, and it’s all so so so slow. It should be interesting but I just keep losing focus and get absolutely nowhere. Took me 6 months to get 1/3 of the book… It’s going back on the shelf now.
