Very interesting information but ultimately a little too dry to be really enjoyable. I wasn't able to really absorb a lot of the content as he often lists a lot of (extinct) animals and plants just by name or very little description so the only way for me to picture it is to look it up and that's not feasible when it's happening multiple times on every page.

So beautiful but quite soporific.

First things first, Adetomiwa Edun provided a stunning reading of the book. I thought the writing style was really inventive, interesting, gorgeously descriptive, and a really transportive way to write about history/science/nature. As well as in moment it was quite lyrical; I felt the quotes used were impactful and really added to this style.

Nevertheless, I felt like I wasn't quite knowledgable enough to understand and learn from the book, and I didn't know many of the creatures. Sometimes I would look up the dinosaurs as the book brought them up, but mostly I used my imagination, which was very fun but, unfortunately, also meant I found it difficult to stay engaged for extended sections as I would trail off into my imagination...

I would still say that I was immersed in this book and greatly enjoyed being shown different times/worlds. It was interesting to see or think about how the world would have looked.
