Read some mixed reviews on this one but I found it fascinating, irreverent, often wonderful. The therapist is a lil cray (which I personally liked) but this is all about unwinding shame so I found it relatable & even universal.

Loved Christie's relatable struggles navigating the complexities of being an adult female and how awesome the group was for her life.
WHAT A WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR!!
to be completely honest, i only kept reading this book because i expected at least one of the following two scenarios to occur.
1.) the therapy group gets exposed as an actual cult (because it sure as heck seemed like one), and the author details her exit from and the downfall of the cult.
2.) the therapist faces a series of lawsuits for ridiculous amounts of malfeasance, malpractice, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
but none of that happened. and it sucked.
but seriously, this has all the makings of a cult book!! a group under the guise of offering self-improvement but really just fostering unhealthy codependency among members? check. a charismatic, conventionally attractive male leader? check. said leader profiting from the naivety and continued compliance of his followers? check.
anyway, don’t waste your time with this. but if you do, don’t let it warp your perception of therapy in general because it definitely has the capacity to do so.
