Agatha Christie is great at keeping you guessing! It’s fun hearing the tiny details Poirot noticed to solve the crime!

I love Agatha Christie and this story did not disappoint!! Tales as old as time with murder, infidelities, money, parents, siblings and spouses. She hit them all and hit them well!

Pretty basic murder mystery, but I could definitely see how this story would have changed the literature landscape at the time. Plus it was written by a woman. It is great if you're not into intense thrillers or gory crime scenes. I didn't love that the story came from the perspective of the Hastings character.

This was a roller coaster. I feel like I loved the beginning and the characters were those cliché mystery novels that were born from Christie’s writing. However, around the last third of the book it started to feel really convoluted and just drawn out to get that big “AH HAAAAA” moment.

Overall I really did love the writing. If this is just her first novel I can’t wait to read more. Poirot’s character is so fun and I really wish to get more about his backstory.

Also, I guess slight spoiler I really just wanna pop Hastings upside the head at some points, cause he doesn’t stay in his lane or act like a logical adult man. Which is frustrating when he is our point of view.
