I thoroughly enjoyed this read, it was a fun rom com that explored a number of themes within the world Harriet and Will are part of. I quite enjoyed the hoax that Harriet and Will created and the ways in which they went about exposing various things occurring at the school. The story alternated between Harriet and Wills POV which did take me a few chapters to separate the two of them in my mind but once I did it flowed well. I felt they both grew as people by the end of the book thanks to each other and those around them. Overall an enjoyable read that I would recommend if your looking for a uplifting and fun read with some romance added to the mix

Opposites team up to fight the patriarchy and the power.

This book was great. Really fun, really clever, and a great message about the importance of solidarity and using your voice. Loved the dual POV and how well each character's voice came through. Just a fantastic YA novel.

when i started reading this the writing style was kind of off putting. very mechanical and young and honestly at some points it was giving y/n fanfics. and im not sure if it got better or i got used to it but half way through it stopped bothering me. one thing that didnt though was just the way these characters spoke. they are meant to be 18 but the words they were saying and they way they were saying them sounded as though they were 14/15. everyone felt more juvenial then they were supposed to be.

the plot itself was fine. i love the idea of an anonymous source speaking up against injustices at an elite school, especially serious ones like sexual harassment, inequal education, and racism/homophobia/classism etc. i do think it was executed fairly well but it fell off at some points. like they suddenly decided not to switch donations for a new school pool into donations for a domestic violence charity just because ? we constantly had to deal with mini cliffhangers of what the plans for their next pranks were going to be, and after awhile it just got exhausting having to wait a few chapters to find out. also very fee consequences came of the pranks, and the fact there was seemingly a lot of evidence against the girls (link dna and handwriting) but it took forever for anyone to figure it out.

the main characters were okay. i honestly felt like Will could have done more. we were always told she was speaking out against injustices but then most of the time it was Harriet with the ideas. she was constantly pressuring Harriet to speak out against coach hadley when i feel like there was a better way to go about it. Nat was seemingly always there to remind her that racism exists and like yeah this is reminiscent of many white liberals but why hail Will as this great speaker against bad things when she clearly wasnt that. i did like her as a character most of the time but she definitely could have done way more. Harriet on the other hand im really not sure. she was used as a lesson i guess. the perfect girl with the perfect life except she was being used by her girlfriend, her parents were absent and homophobic, her coach was a freak, and her friends were bigots. she had to overcome all of this after being such a wet blanket for most of the story, other than the fact she came up with most of the ideas for amelia westlake. we also could have gotten a lot more out of her too.

all in all, this was a quick and easy read, just what i needed at this point in time. the writing style flip flopped, the characters were underused, but the plot was really interesting, just also slightly underused. but hey there is sapphics ! seeing Will and Harriet develop feelings for each other was cute and i liked their relationship, we should have also gotten more from that. basically this book could have just been a lot more, perhaps a bit underdeveloped.
