A brand new series from one of my fave authors! Whilst these characters have been glimpsed in the Norcross Series of books, we didn't really get to know them very well. So now we get to meet the crew of Sentinel Security. They are all former Spec-Ops/Agents from various agencies around the world (There is a kickbutt female MI6 agent I'm totally fangirling over!)

Lainie has come a long way. She has sweated blood and tears to get her company off the ground.
She's faced glory hounds trying to steal slices of her company and upstarts trying to copy her company and she has always come out on top. But still keeps her friendly, personable style - a CEO with heart. Her love life, however, total disaster zone. But then she compares all men to Nick. Her best friend's older brother and the star of her teenage fantasies.

Nick, aka Wolf, has kept a distance between himself and Lainie for good reason. One kiss when she was 18 but he was in his 20's has left him feeling guilty and he doesn't want to start something that could decimate his sister's friendship with Lainie. But someone has declared war on Lainie's company and has escalated to direct threats on Lainie. That pushes all of Nick's buttons and Lainie soon finds herself in a fake relationship to hide the fact that Nick is her new bodyguard!

If you love your MMC tall, growly, overprotective, and a tad on the domineering side - this is for you! Nick is overprotective of everyone in his life and has a constant need to prove himself after the treatment he had at the hands of his stepfather and his emotionally distant mother. Lainie is smart, fashion-forward, tenacious, and independent. She does suck when it comes to picking men, however!

Lainie does a fine job of staying calm in a crisis and never wavers in her belief that Nick will save her. She knows her limits and is perfectly happy to leave her safety to the experts - well once she is convinced the threat is real of course.

I'm intrigued to read about the others in the team, Hex is a total handful and she is totally giving off a Penny Garcia vibe!
