Hackett's always good for low stakes, action filled + steamy reads. This one has fake dating and little sis's best friend with a growly, overbearing hero and a smart, ambitious heroine who's no damsel in distress. I find their romance a bit draggy with their back and forth. All the 'I can't, you can't, we can't' gave me whiplash, plus he's a bit of an ass about it. That aside, the chemistry's decent and they do steam things up a fair bit. Action is solid, the team seems great and there're some fun cameos.

I devoured this in just over a day amidst a busy weekend, such is the power a new Anna Hackett book has over me. Excited to start a new series with a new crew, loved every cameo and Lainie and Wolf were adorable, I don’t think I realised best friend’s sibling was a beloved trope of mine… maybe it’s the teenage pining rewarded later on (hello Luke and Ava) but either way I was very happy for these two crazy kids. I also want to reread all of my favourite Team 52 books (great to see Seth but where the heck was my beloved Brooks?! It was a tech conference, the opportunity was right there!) and probably some Norcross while I’m at it because of course I do. And then reread Wren and Malax’s Eon book because I love them the mostest.
ANYWAY. Thank you as ever to Anna Hackett for offering some marvellous escapism.

Great spin off for fans of Norcross
Loved the Norcross series & this is starting out every bit as good. Nick “Wolf” is a dirty talking alpha
