Although I enjoyed reading about William and Cerice, liked them both as characters and liked big parts of the book, I found it really hard to get into the story.

I listened to the audiobook version and it didn't really do it for me, whether it was the accents or the way the narrator emphasized parts that didn't need emphasizing, or her interpretations of certain characters, it failed to draw me into the story. There were a lot of different characters, especially in the Mar family or the freaks, that I couldn't really tell apart from her interpretation and I found myself zoning out on parts were she got too monotonous.

Apart from that, interesting mystery, lots of ups and downs, gory fights, complex magic and monstrous creatures. Realistic characters and well developed relationships between them.

A few long winded descriptions and explanations dragged the story down a bit, but all in all a good story.

I would have enjoyed it more if I'd read it and would have probably given it a higher rating, so I don't recommend the audio version for this one.

I like this series so far. It's fun, it has some good action, with a little bit of romance. I love my wolves, William is awesome and funny. If you liked the first book, you'll like this one, but it has a focus on different characters with some cameo appearances from the characters from book 1.

I liked this. It was good to have William as a hero. Cereise wasn’t to annoying. I feel bad for Lark and I want her to have a story, hopefully with Jack.

Okay, so I didn’t like the Redneck Swamp Witch feuding family setting as much, but I did enjoy William getting his own story. He deserved one. Plus the growing world building, and interesting new magic forms are very clever
adventurous dark tense slow-paced

As much as William is breaking my heart, he and Cerise didn't capture it the same way Rose and her family had.

This book came highly recommend and did not disappoint. This is the second book in the Edge series. It develops the characters and the continuing story very well.
