Amazing! I really liked the magical adventure!

Thomasina, aka Tommy is a little kitchengirl who hates doing kitchen work and slips out of the kitchen to watch knights and squires practice.
Tommy dreams of being the first (girl)knight in "Flamant Castle" and with her golden heart and the help of some unusal talking friends, some big things will happen to her and her adventure (ours too) starts in this first book.

This is the first book in the series. I read this aloud to my 4 year old daughter and 6 year old son as a bedtime story over two nights. They both loved Tommy, especially because my son's name is Tom. They also loved the fact that the animals could talk. This was a great little fantasy adventure story. We plan to read the rest of the series.

Enjoyable, engaging medieval junior fiction about a girl who likes swords and sword fighting better than peeling potatoes in the castle kitchen. Nice book to start discussions about gender stereotypes, and exclusion based on gender. 4yo enjoyed it more than 7yo but a positive response overall from both once we’d finished it.
The talking animals and swords were a lovely surprise and the kids really like that aspect of the story
