3.75 stars. Very cute and sultry, however that lottery storyline was just too unbelievable for me. Coulda done without it.

Enjoyed the book overall. Dreamy was the star of the show, but I felt the characterization of her and Karter fell flat. Her personality is loud colors and wigs. That she also has a business plan that hinges on winning the lottery… it’s a bit annoying. Karter is nice enough but he’s boiled down to being rich and a fixer. Added on that dreamy is centered around being ‘not like other girls’ for karter, it gets icky.

Very straightforward romance, low angst, no stakes.

Dreamy is working as a secretary now, but her goal is to start a nonprofit. When she meets her boss's prospective investor, she's instantly smitten. But Karter, the son of an A-list actor, is way out of her league. What happens when they mix business with pleasure?

This romcom is a low-angst Cinderella story. Dreamy and Karter are smart, likable characters I enjoyed spending time with. The tone of the book is light, fun, and a little bit over-the-top. The side characters added warmth and humor.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

3.5 rounded up

This was a fun, flirty workplace romance between Dreamy, a flamboyant, hard-worker hoping to win it big with the lottery and Karter, a workaholic Venture Capitalist looking for a worthwhile business to invest in. When these two meet at a pitch meeting, the sparks fly and Karter can't keep his mind off Destiny. Not only is she competent and capable in business, she's also beautiful and captivating.

What follows is a light-hearted, open door romance between two Black main characters. If you don't mind suspending your disbelief and going along for the serendipitous ride, this love story will entertain and keep a smile on your face the whole way though. Great on audio too and perfect for fans of authors like Jasmine Guillory. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy!

This book had me cracking up from the start!! Storyline started and ended great in my opinion. Very light read to have if you like quick chapters. I'm glad that the ending tied up all the loose ends and didn't leave anything out or confusing. I would say that Gramps is the funniest character of all & he reminds me a lot of my granddaddy's personality
