Historical fictions aren’t usually my go to reads so take this review with a grain of salt if you do enjoy this genre because I’m not very knowledgeable. I think based on the description of this book I was expecting a little bit different of a story. In my opinion it took a very long time for the story to really have a lot of action / get into a groove. It was about 45% of the way done before I really started to enjoy the book. Each chapter you switch POVs between the 2 main characters and it was very easy to distinguish their separate stories. I really appreciate the author note at the end and the amount of effort the author put into making this novel.

I found it really dull. I also was disappointed it didn't really involve much "library" stuff and it had two POVs, one of which is NOT a librarian.

This book was tastefully written. The main characters, their drive, their hearts, their compassion and their strength was inspiring. You cannot read this book without feeling profoundly moved.
