One of my favs. Loathed the dog fighting, though.
I was so looking forward to this book… but it was kind of disappointing not gonna lie…
Maybe because the story is not over and there’s still a part 2 to come, but I just had higher expectations.
The writing was good don’t get me wrong, the characters were also well developed but there was just something missing? At times it read like a wattpad fanfic, only because of it being too cliche…
Also Amo throwing unnecessary comments?! Please mate, chill…
I’m sure I’ll change my mind once I read part two and I’ll always look forward to whatever Cora writes!

Review: First off, I love Cora Reilly and so far the second generation is off to such a great start. This book is centered on Marcella and Maddox and OMG the parallels to Remo’s book.
Marcella is the princess of Luca and Aria who we read the story of in the original series. She is headstrong and determined to break the mold of women in the mafia. When she is kidnapped and faced with enemies, she hols strong and rescues herself.
Maddox is the son of the club president that kidnaps her. While he wa son board at first, he quickly becomes conflicted and finds himself respecting her strength and wanting to let her go. TO me Maddox is the favorite in book 1.
Overall, this book was not very dark but it had a lot of angst and reflection. I am thinking part two will be a lot darker with more violence since we will see Marcella step into a role in the Familigia. I also think part 2 will have more with Amy and possible tie overs with The Camorra.
I felt like part 1 showcased the kidnapping just right. It had both POVs to show each struggle with showing strength but being weak and asking for help. I also think that Maddox grew alot in part 1 so I am hoping we see Marcella grow in part 2.
**SPOILERS**
I really hope we get a surprise pregnancy here and that Maddox redeems himself to Luca. & OMG Aria being a kicka$$ mafia mother at the end and sticking up for Marcella and Maddox to Luca.
I also hope we see Maddox bring his brother back and into the Familigia and maybe his mother too.
I really hope Amo and Marcella bridge the Camorra gap in part 2 based off the role Marcella asks for.
Rating: 10/10, we end on a cliffhanger but oh man…Marci is a QUEEN!
