4.5 stars!

Okay I feel like this next gen series has started off good!
I absolutely loved Maddox and Marcella’s characters!

I loved the MC element Cora has added to the book, I couldn’t stop reading!

The steamy scenes where so good and I really loved Marcella’s character development, the cliff hanger killed me I need part 2!

Maddox where did you goooo!!??

Thrilling start of the Series
By Sin I Rise is an explosive beginning of this series. I have been waiting for a long time to read Marcella's book and the wait was worth it. This book is entirely different from the other books of Cora. It was more mature, stable, focused on the plot, and not centered on desires only. I think this series is going to be a battle choosing between family love or love of life.

This book gives me a more harsh reality of captivity by the enemy, nothing, about this book tells a soft side in the story. The book starts to get darker with every passing phase. It only has a limited fight scene like every Cora book has. I didn't stop reading after starting it.

MARCELLA VITELLO - the name is enough to describe her. Marcella Vitiello has an invisible magnet that pulls you into her. Everything about her is marvelous, her grace, attitude, arrogance, pride. She is a perfect example of beauty with a brain. She is the daughter of her father and mother. The strength she possesses makes me like her too much. The fierce trust and loyalty she has for her father and family are just magnificent, even without seeing her father's dark side and suffering for his sins. Despite suffering from everything, it makes her stronger than before. This book was a journey of her princess to becoming Queen.

Maddox White is a wild biker who only lives for his revenge. The cover is perfect for his character vision. I didn't think there was anyone perfect for Marcella, but then there was Maddox. Maddox is the one who has the guts to look into the eyes of Luca with hatred. Still, I want more from him to define that he will be perfect for his Snow White, equal to her father, not only in protecting but also in love.

Cora gives me more reasons to love Luca in the entire series. Seeing Luca and Aria in a parenting role and their growing love reminds me of the previous books. I expected little presence of Luca in the book, but every space, every thought, every word in this book speaks of Luca. He is everywhere.

Amo steals my attention much more than needed. The impression improvement in his character made me curious. I thought before that Amo was like Luca, but now after knowing about him. Amo is everything like Luca but much more different from him. I want his book as soon as possible. Reading previous characters is like refreshing every memory about them.

I thought I wrote a review abt this one-

I’m late but I’ll still give a review.

Marcella:
- She didn’t annoy me like I thought but she is spoiled.
- She wants everything perfect and not mess up her and her family’s reputation.
- She’s the strongest throughout everything and kept her head high not letting anyone bring her down.

Maddox:
- Really nothing to say about him…
- His “talking” needs to stop like some of the words are ‘’cringe’’ and just a turn off.
- His piercing… I’m looking, I’m looking…

Still don’t like Luca nor Aria but it’s whatever.
Matteo cameo tho!
I’m so excited for Amo’s story like I need it now!
I don’t really have an opinion I literally was just reading it to be finished and all caught up with everything.

Overall, 3/5 stars nothing bad it’s an okay book.

Personal note:
not Cora Reilly's finest but if you enjoyed her other series you are probably going to read it. Do not start from this one, it's not her best and the reading experience it's going to be better if you have read her other books (still you are going to be fine even if you don't)

What I liked least was the hero: he was too in love\lust with the heroine, and too soon, he was a bit whiney and he acted younger than a 28 old in a motorcycle club would. He felt quite powerless and this didn't made him sexy.

2 ⭐️

I'm not even going to write a huge review to explain what made not enjoy this book, I'm only gonna say what necessary.

Everything is so rushed. Marcella is annoying 80% of the book. Maddox is such a boring character when you compare him to the others MC in Cora's books. The plot was some sort of Remo and Serafina's book with some different aspects.
There's an entire chapter of Luca's pov of everything that was happening with Marcella. For what reason? I'm a little tired of all these povs of the same timeline and the same plot.
The bikers were so dumb and disgusting.
The whole dogs things..... just no.
The ending was a disappointment and I'm not even sure if there was a need to write another book about them when, if she added 4 more chapters, the plot could end.

Bonus things in this book is that I got to see Matteo again and a bit more of Amo.
It's not like I had big expectations but it's just sad that I feel the quality of the books keep getting worse.

I honestly don’t feel like adding this into my favorite list yet because their story is not over but I really liked it, and that surprised me a lot, I’ve been tweeting about how afraid I was to read this book for weeks because I was pretty sure I was going to dislike it since I usually hate books with kidnapping and MC but I had a good time reading it… hopefully the second part will go well

Let's face it, coming back to the Vitiello family, or more accurately, coming back to Luca Vitiello can only make us happy readers!

My enthusiasm for Cora Reilly's books is always at an all-time high, but the story doesn't always live up to my expectations.
Reading about a future generation of the Vitiello, makes it clear that they have a role within the Family.
Luca is the Head of the Family and, Amo, his son will take his place in a future.
We know that playing such an important role inevitably gets blood on your hands and, as bad luck would have it, his hands were stained with the blood of Maddox's father.

In a world where honor and loyalty to family is everything, in your opinion, what is the best way to take revenge on a person who has hurt you if not by adopting the old method "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth".
Maddox, along with his family, organizes the kidnapping of Marcella Vitiello.
Their intention, initially, was not to hurt the girl. Above all it is not what Maddox wants.
But his uncle has a different idea, and wants to see blood flow.

Little children quickly learn that closing your eyes from evil doesn’t protect you. It took me far too long to grasp that lesson.

It's a novel with many clichés, it was to be expected that Marcella, due to her forced stay with the clan, would start to have feelings for Maddox.
This was also the case in reverse.
Marcella's characterization is very strong, you can see right away that the Vitiello blood flows in her. Well, we can happily say that it's all her father.
Despite Earl putting her sanity in extreme difficulty, she doesn't bend easily, in fact, we can say that she faces everything head on.

“I have darkness running in my veins. I am my father’s daughter, don’t ever underestimate me because I’m a woman. Being a woman doesn’t mean I’m not strong. And trust me when I say that nothing you did will leave a scar. Your name and family will long be forgotten while mine will rule over the East and hunt down every biker affiliated to Tartarus.”

Alas, Maddox didn't exactly blow me away all that much. Right from the start, his behavior, turned my nose up at him. As much as I can sympathize with his feelings, personally, I think he gave the finger a little too early to the family he owes his loyalty to.
He's been planning his revenge since the age of five, heck, he blows it all in the blink of an eye.
I see very little credibility in the development of the story between Maddox and Marcella. The whole thing happens way too fast, it's like missing important steps.
On the other hand, the chemistry between Maddox and Luca makes me drool a bit. I mean, let me tell you, I got more emotions from the two of them together than from Maddox and the young Vitiello.

“Some people think women can’t be cruel. I think we’re just more creative when it comes to cruelty. Enjoy the pain at the hands of your own flesh and blood.”

By Sin I Rise: Part One is smoothly written from the perspective of both protagonists and ends with a cliffhanger that keeps the reader in suspense until the second volume is released on December 15th.
Moving forward with the series, I think it's losing the Vitiello vibe a bit. I'll be reading the second volume, as I'm curious to see where this is going.
I will undoubtedly be reading the books to come as well, in short, Reilly is now our Queen of Mafia romance.
