I didn't like the ending, it is a enjoyable book nonetheless.

A well written and enjoyable page turner with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. The cult and kinesics explainations aren't overly detailed and don't detract from the main story. The characters are believable and well written. The only problem with this book is the somewhat disappointing anti-climatic ending which doesn't seem to match the fast paced thriller style of the rest of the book.

Oh my god, I am finally finished. This book felt like it took forever and more to finish, it was just so long and detailed and got a bit boring... BUT THEN, Jefferey Deaver ends with about 4 different twists in the last 100 pages. I'm so glad I read this all the way through although it did take some grafting. I'm looking forward to reading more in the Kathryn Dance series but I just hope Jefferey stops dragging his stories out because when he doesn't he's an EXCEPTIONAL writer.

Suspenseful and unexpected twists and turns. I like that I can never really tell where the story is going. I really like the Kathryn dance character.

I really really enjoyed this one! Kathryn Dance is a strong female character (which I love and think crime novels could use more of). Daniel Pell was a great villain and his actions kept me on the edge of my seat!

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because of the last 50 pgs or so. I really felt that it was unnecessary and the book could've ended before that "twist".

Like that dancer - a sidekick from his other novels is a main character here - enjoy the psychological aspect

I've read a number of Jeffrey Deaver books. They typically focus on a lone investigator (or department head) as he (or she in this case) investigates a crime. They usually don't have too much proceedure in them, focussing more on the interactions. This book is much the same.

The book sees a skilled interogator hunt down a killer after he escapes from a holding cell after she has interviewed him.

I found the book a little disappointing. I usually find Deaver's books rattle along at a good old pace, but that doesn't really happen here as much (with the exception of the twist in the tail), which meant I found it a less than satisfying read. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of books that are a lot worse, but there are books that are better too.
