Really fantastic research on work culture, leisure, and what makes us human. My only complaint is about the “Life-back” section, which I felt took away from the author’s point elsewhere in the book about how the problem of overworking demands collective/structural change.

definitely made me reconsider a lot about my own productivity... and i fully enjoyed how well researched and cited the book was !! also Celeste has a beautiful voice !!
I was expecting more tips but this book was mostly educational. Interesting, but misleading in my opinion.

Good for challenging your current thought processes around work and being “busy”.

A must-read. I mistakenly assumed this was a fluffy book with wistful attempts to get back to a bygone era... NOPE. It's a fact-filled indictment of the work culture we've experienced since industrialization, and yet it is not dry at all. At the end, you're left with actionable steps to make your life better. I can't stop talking about what a great book this is.
