Why don't they have more stars to give novels this freaking amazing? Mark Henwick has cemented his place in my top ten author list- and he managed to do it with only two books. Until today, I never thought that would happen.

Amber's back with bisexual love abounding. Athanate, like all vampires love mingling blood and sex, so throughout this book, she's oozing the charm with male and female alike. Being Athanate hasn't changed her that much. She still totes a gun and follows the same ultra paranoia as before. She's still a strong, kickass character. Only this time she's got Skylur and gang backing her rather than going through everything alone. The introduction of pack and werewolf was a great addition to the universe as well, giving the story an extra punch.

Lots more angst and way too much happening in this book. Still really really enjoyed the FMC and how mature she reads. I am really enjoying the reveals. Not sure why SO MUCH has to be happening all at the same time just that is just not my jam. Still going to keep reading the series. I really appreciate how competent our FMC is. Thank you.

This picks up immediately after the first book and reforces my feeling that it was originally a single book that was split in two.
This is more brutal and dark than the first part, we get a little bit more world building.
This book concluded Amber's introduction to the paranormal community and opens up the world for her to explore.
Would like very much if the relationships get more fleshed out.

I really enjoy this series.
Amber is a little more chaotic in this book, she really is becoming more wild as she becomes more vampire (not the correct term for this book but I can spell that easily). I still find her character extremely easy to like. She is still fierce, a little off the deep end but she works it. If If she was fighting with me in any fights I had to have, I would feel extremely safe with her.
I like also, the relationships in this book, thankfully her sister isn't in this very much, and I love Alex and her. I also love Jen and her, although you can feel the chemistry it isn't about sex or rather not just about sex. Its about her and Jen falling for each other as well. I like that, it makes it seem a little more human with those emotions as well.
