What I liked most about this book was the underpinnings of the idea and the concept of hygge. Although there are practical applications this book mostly focuses on the concepts rather than the actual structure or actions of hygge. I feel this is a concept I want to know more on this level

Durant toute la lecture de cet ouvrage j'ai eu envie de prendre un billet pour le Danemark et de me caler dans un fauteuil au coin du feu.
Une lecture douceur de vivre.

Meh - this felt a little hollow to me. There was so good stuff - but felt a little surface level. I wish it had been more grounded in the Danish culture.

This book could be a quarter of its length and it would still be too long. The author rambles on with examples of what hygge is, contantly repeating the same few ones.

2 stars for the effort and some good quotes from other authors.

I actually really enjoyed this book - but to note that I did not take this read very seriously. I think that Hygge is a mindset and I truly appreciate the sentiment behind that.

This was a succinct cultural synopsis of the Danish principle of Hygge. Exploring the concepts of simplicity, clarity, and connection I felt I had a new perspective on intentional living and a different way of orienting to life. No checklists, no ten essentials, no recommended stores will be found in this book. It’s about a way of being, not having. You literally cannot buy a prepackaged hygge experience. That’s the point of the book.

Beautifully laid out and written. It is poetic and mindful -- full of quotes and encouragements to recognize beauty in the simple, mundane aspects of everyday life.
