I had no idea this was a series when I first read this in 2015????? I'm so confused now lol

Ok, I read this after I saw they made it into a movie. I think the book is better than the movie, but that's not saying much. Good clean read. I saw some other of the author's work at the library, may check them out.

This book is an amazing take on beauty and the beast. If you read closely you can see some characters from other fairy tales make an appearance. A five star book! The movie was junkie but you know what they say, " the book is always better than the movie"

Soo good. Very well written and the point of view is very interesting. Love the whole allusion to Beauty and the Beast and the romantic feel to it

So much better the movie.

Certainly a Teen appropriate book - nice adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

Seeing a commercial for the upcoming movie caused me to pick this book up. I am hopeful that this is one of those rare times that the film is better than the book - as the commercial still makes me want to see the movie.

It was a passable modernization of Beauty & the Beast, but the author's characterization of teens was far too superficial, the set-up to the beast being spelled was far too short and his reformation much too painless. Teens are selfish - even the unselfish, kind ones - and once he got ugly, he spent a week or so moping, and all of a sudden he began being kind to his maid and his tutor. There was none of the sullen, self-destructive behavior of normal teens during the reformation.

The dialog was horrific.

Lindy was believable, but we didn't know nearly enough about Beauty. She was just there because Beast needed a Beauty.

There were definitely some sweet moments, popcorn, snowmen, sled riding, fire in the fireplace, but they don't coverup the deficiencies.

I do look forward to the films, though.

My mom got me this book since I was in the musical Beauty and the Beast at my school, and I was quite impressed with it. It was a great story that was the perfect balance of humor and seriousness, and also fantasy with reality. Loved it.

It's also better than the movie. I know everyone always says that, but it's true this time. It has a much better story

a great retelling of Beauty and the Beast. i liked that it was told from the perspective of the beast.

This is a twist on "beauty and the beast" as you may have guessed from the title of the book. I really liked this book and while I did not love Kyle at the begining and I am sure you are not supposed to, but by the end her really one me over and I was rooting for Alex in the end. I did like how he was "transformed" into a beast because it is not as animal like as I was expecting. Of course, since it is a twist on the classic tale of beauty and the beast there are some similarities in the plot, but there are some twists in there that I enjoyed. Overall a good book and I hear they are making it into a movie, so that will be interesting to see in visual form.
