Mmm. I’m having a love/hate relationship with this authors books. I’ve started every series and while I enjoyed the first book, I never care to finish the series. The man I can’t have series is the exception.

The last time jump made the end feel rushed considering there is a second part.
BUT
As soon as I got annoyed w the time jump, the epilogue had me feeling emotional. I know this is an unpopular opinion but it should’ve ended here. I like the idea of her and who she ends up with.

The way the friend acted was not it. A friendship of over 10 years and the things she said to Chloe are unforgivable. She seemed childish from the beginning. Bleh

Thoughts: Personally not for me, I ended up skimming a lot.

Forbidden and naughty

Oh Mr Black. Theo, he's a naughty man. I loved the deviancy in this book. Truth be told, the forbidden parts is this book were my favorite parts. Theo is Chloe's best friends Dad. They've known each other since she was a preteen. Their intimacy doesn't happen until she's older, but this author weaves in little details that make you think there was "always something there". These two are filled with lust, and their passion is perfection. As with any good forbidden romance, there's so much drama, and some parts definitely felt OTT, but the story as a whole was delicious and kept my interest piqued. Doesn't quite end how I thought it would, so I'll be diving into book 2 to find out what's next for these two.

bahaha i have no idea what i just read. I am not a fan of these taboo reads... but i thought i’d try them out because i enjoyed Birthday Girl. Never again.

🌶🌶🌶🌶/5

I know this book came with warnings, but come on. There should have been a warning that the ending would not have a HEA.
This book had everything that draws me in, as I love the forbidden element and the struggles the characters go through because of their tragically deep feelings for each other. Life and love is not easy, and very rarely, is there a story without some form of heartache. But seriously, the ending was hideous, and totally took from the rest of the book. I was mesmerised by these characters, and could not put my kindle down. I just felt like crying at the end, and not because of the happy ending. To have Theo and Chloe endure so much and have to hide their love from the rest of the world, they deserved their lives to be spent together. I am not naive in thinking that life and love is all sugar and sweet, but it was tragic that the book ended the way it did. I totally love the work this author delivers, but feel that I just cannot give it anymore than 3 stars. The book was getting a 5 star rating until I got to about 95%. Just did not see how it would pan out until then. Just devastated that their story had this conclusion. BUT, my opinion should not determine whether others decide not to read the book. I strongly encourage others to read the book and decide for themselves, as this author deserves that.

[I read this via Kindle Unlimited]

This book....I saw this book go by on my feed a week or 2 ago - color me intrigued. I read the sample of it on my kindle, and decided: "eeeehhhh.....maybe...?" A few days later I noticed it was actually available through KU, so I decided: "eh, what the hell?"

I didn't read at all yesterday, I am thoroughly ashamed of myself. I couldn't decide what to read, so I decided on this. I am still unsure what to think about it. I liked it, overall. I am not really a huge fan of the younger/older thing, but the way this was written, I found myself devouring it in one sitting. I liked the main characters. I thought their lives and the people around them with all their dramatic bullshit and problems was maybe a little to unrealistic for my liking, but the main characters, I liked. Theo was hot, just sayin'

I can't say I liked the ending....at all. On one hand, it makes sense, I can see why it ended that way....
Spoilerbut on the other hand, I really, really, really liked them together....They were so happy, and they could have made it work. YES, it really upset his daughter...but, she was a grown woman, and she was kind of a bitch in general....I think it was really sad that Chloe gave up her happiness for someone else. ALSO, that epilogue was pretty shitty....I mean, he is all obsessed and in love with her, and 10 months later he's meeting someone else and eventually marrying her...?? AND CHLOE, are you fucking kidding me? Picking HIM, knowing that he fucked her ex lovers wife, which is HOW SHE ENDED UP GETTING MURDERED? Ugh. ANYWAY, like I said, I get why they ended up not being together,
but I just thought the epilogue was poorly thought out, and I just wish it had all ended differently.

really poor writing

Tried to cheer myself up reading this one and ended up not at all cheered. Depressing beginning and depressing ending. Decent in the middle and the smutty parts were pretty good but nothing to write home about. Was expecting a better ending.
