In all honesty, I don’t want to review this book. I want to keep it hidden, and all to myself. But to do that would deny readers the sheer brilliance of Giles Terera.

Giles writes over and over in this book if the intelligence and wonder of Lin Manuel Miranda, and all other creatives of Hamilton. But truly, I believe Terera could rival them any day of the week.

His writing is unmatched. He makes you feel. He makes you breathe the words of Hamilton as if you’d written them. I know Hamilton inside out, yet Terera shed light on things I’d never even glimpsed.

I was lucky enough to see Giles Terera as Burr, but now I feel even more lucky that I got to read what got him to Burr in the first place.

I urge everyone to read this book, theatre fan or not. You will fall in love.
