an excellent version of the star wars canon, I think there were some things that I didn't enjoy as much (how padme is portrayed with much less agency, but then again in the movies ... hmm) but overall the way this author wrote the relationships between anakin, obi wan, and palpatine truly deepened my understanding of anakin's motivations and his actions. I love this novel for how much depth it lends to a movie that needed more time and scenes. 

Also -- mace windu my pookie wookie jedi. This book is by the same author as Shatterpoint, delicious characterization for my GOAT

I want to like this more because I'm a Star Wars fan and excited says that this is one of the best Star Wars novels, but it didn't thrill me.

Easily, one of the best written books I've read. The stylie Stover is using.... Flawless. The way we enter the minds of the characters, the way we see the well known story, the depth... Fantastic.
